The starting point for your cycling tours is Passau, a city full of mediterranean flair. Discover the pristine nature of the Bavarian Forest National Park along the rivers Ohe and Ilz, and further explore the upper Danube valley. Right by the river Inn, you’ll find the charming town of Schärding, while further along the Danube, the town of Vilshofen presents itself like an island swimming atop the stream. In the evening, you’ll return to your cozy hotel room, after which you can enjoy the end of the day in one of the many local beer gardens. Day 1 Arrival in Passau
3-river boat trip and the historical town centre set the mood for your holiday.

Day 2 Excursion to Schärding, 40 km/25 mi
The Inn will guide your way towards the baroque town of Schärding, while Neuburg castle is also worth seeing. If you’re feeling particularly sporty, why not extend your tour to Obernberg.

Day 3 Excursion to Schlögener Schlinge, 55 km/34 mi
Next, you’ll be cruising to the impressive Schlögener Schlinge, a winding meander of the river Danube in the upper Danube valley, after which you’ll cycle back through the high and narrow Danube valley. The trappist monastery of Engelszell is also highly worth visiting.

Day 4 Excursion to Freyung, 60 km/37 mi
You’ll be returned to your starting point in the Bavarian Forest on the nostalgic Ilz valley railway or our bike bus, after which you’ll descend into Passau on surprisingly easy to ride bike paths. Pristine nature awaits!

Day 5 Excursion to Osterhofen, 45 km/53 mi
The train will take you upstream along the Danube to Klosterwinkel. The Quintana museum is particularly exciting: Celts, Romans and Baiovarii are all represented here. Why not then explore the pretty town of Straubing prior to returning to Passau?
